School Philosophy

The schools of the Doon Society are centers where :

  • We aim to preserve and enhance the highest standards of excellence and prepare generations for the 21st century.
  • Doon students are helped to master the expanding horizons of technology and also become the repository of a deep commitment to Indian ethos and culture in its pristine form.
  • Doon students are equipped to access the best opportunities for growth and advancement by being prepared linguistically and culturally for them. The concept of an enlightened citizen of the world will be the backdrop of all their endeavors.
  • Doon Students shall be carefully sensitized to environmental concerns, the feeling of nationalism and communal harmony.
  • Doon schools are available to the best minds at the most reasonable and affordable cost. No deserving and talented child shall find the doors of Doon closed because of financial disability. Special efforts are made through resource centers for children with special needs. Education of the marginalized children is being ensured through non-formal learning centers.
  • The Doon Society is a non-profit, non-proprietary educational body widely recognized for its progressive approach and commitment to excellence. Distinction and diversity are the twin hallmarks of our philosophy; educational leadership and scholarly achievement, our mission. Strong in tradition we have evolved as a matrix of networking among the state, national and international educational institutions. Yet what has remained unchanged is the desire to achieve and excel.
  • It has been rightly said, “It is good to have an end to journey towards, but it is the journey that matters, in the end.” The involvement of the Society in universal educational enhancement and its endeavour to build a democratic, pluralistic and secular nation has made all the difference. It is no more a question of lighting a candle here or there; it is an attempt at total illuminination & electrification. The whole world has begun to glow with the light of literacy radiated by the Doon School Society.

Mission Vision & Values

Mission statement: To make our children successful & responsible world class citizens.

Academics at DISK are an education for Life. Excellence in Education and Commitment to a meaningful Education are of prime importance. Quality education is provided to each and every child. DISK believes that love for education should be developed in children during initial years and conditions should be created for them to pursue a positive approach in life.

A unidirectional teaching method is being increasingly substituted by a multi-directional group workshop method. Here the teacher becomes the group co-ordination initiating work, nurturing students without the phobia of examinations and homework. Development of oral and written expression is emphasized upon. Home assignments are not a carry-over of class work but oriented towards honing individual talents.

Vision: Holistic education with an emphasis on academic achievement, service to others, confident energetic constructive teamwork and leadership.

Schools of the Doon Educational Society are places where:

  • The intellectual, social, emotional, physical, spiritual and aesthetic development of the students is fostered to enhance their quality of life.
  • Students’ achievement is acknowledged and celebrated within the schools and the community.
  • Students are prepared for active, independent learning in an environment which fosters a spirit of inquiry and keen competition.

Doon School Song

In a spot in the plains of our country
Lies our culture so grand
Here the nature and people are beautiful
In the heart of Haryana’s land

A school stands out in this soil
United here we stand
Doon International teaches us all
To respect and lend a hand

We learn to pass on the hopes and dreams
To those that follow close at hand
Our teachers give us thoughts and skills
So we may build where they planned

Bonded in strength that nothing can break
United here we stand
Doon International teaches us all
To respect and lend a hand

Working towards a bright future
All of us friends till the end
Unified forever against any foe
Serving our great motherland

We will strive, succeed and serve
United here we stand
Doon International teaches us all
To respect and lend a hand
